In honor of the Jet to the Future event I wanted to make a post on the history of Rock The Beat in the original Cinderella Girls game, for those who might not know!
Everything started with Natsuki and Riina’s Rs from the School Uniform Collection gacha in March 2012, just a few months after the game began, which had these lines:
This is the origin of their nicknames for each other!
In the months after that, their cards continued to be released in the same sets with lines referencing each other, and Natsuki was also shown in background of Riina’s unawakened New Years Rocker SR.
Alongside that, they were shown to be close friends in the Cinderella Girls Theater comics.
Then, in April 2013 they were featured in an event called “Idol Session”.
This event focused on Riina and Natsuki preparing to perform at a rock festival as their own idol unit, Rock The Beat!
In the years following, Rock The Beat often appeared as a rival unit during events. Natsuki and Riina’s cards continued to be released in sets and reference each other as well.
(Those same headphones are seen in Natsuki's unawakened SSR in Deresute!)
For a long time, the thought of a Rock The Beat song seemed like a far off dream. While Riina got a voice at the beginning of 2013, Natsuki never ranked in elections so the likelihood of her getting voiced seemed slim. Then, last summer came the second season of the anime and Natsuki got not only a voice, but a solo! And here we are now: Three and half years later, Natsuki and Riina are actually getting a song together as Rock The Beat!

after one unsuccessful 10er I laid low and told myself nah I don't need the Kanako THAT bad... then I realised I got up to 500 gems and bein' the bitch I am I solo'ed, first pull being a rare ofc and at this point I'm like listen as long as it's one I don't already have... but no.... no, RNGesus was like nuh-uh honey I have bigger plans for you you DESERVE it... take it.... take the Kanako. I am no man of religion but I sure as hale am devoting my life to my almighty holy father Bandai Namco from now on.
Also this is the 2nd out of 2 solo'ed ssrs I got while being in the bathroom so y'all will catch me chillin' in the bathtub with my phone the next cinfest idec.
