To all producers,
It has come to our attention as moderators, that an incident occurred in which activities and comments were required to be assessed. These assessments were not handled as is proper conduct, due to the fact that this is a new site, a majority of moderators have not handled this position before and instructions on how to deal with conflict had not been established. We are ready to admit that as moderators, we are at fault.
To clarify this incident, some users had their profile reported to us moderators due to some comments they had made that concerned other users. We appreciate that as a community there are members who look out for each other and report users who may use unkind language unsuitable for the environment Cinderella Producers attempts to create. When we as moderators take care of a report, it is our duty to remove whatever content is being deemed unsuitable. The moderators had yet to be informed about the protocol involving content that was reported. As a result, it was not clear to us what fulfilling a report would actually do. It was not the moderators intentions to delete a profile, much rather, it was the intention of deleting a specific activity. All of the moderators at Cinderella Producers apologise for these accidental deletion of profiles rather than comments, we accept full responsibility for such and hope you can forgive us. These mistakes will not be repeated due to a protocol we have now since been set in response to the incident.
A second incident involved the accidental deleting of activities when there was only a genuine problem with comments. We understand that this got in the way of some users and their contest entries, or general opinions being shared. We at Cinderella Producers understand that some users will have individual opinions that may come across as controversial, it may be against your favourite character in the series. We can understand that if you have a deep connection to this character, or the franchise as a whole, it may be hurtful. We also understand that although every user has a good intention and wants to come across polite, as we all can in life, feelings can get the better of us and arguments can arise.
At the time of this second incident, we as moderators had not had permission granted to be moderators in disqus, our comment section. The only quick resolution to stop more conflict was to delete the entire activity due to the increasing concern surrounding this conflict. The moderation had not been fully completed at the time of general release, thus there were still small pieces to the puzzle to be put into place. We understand that in response to this, it may have come across that we as staff are against the promotion of one's favourite character, or branded to be a "nazi" (which we would like to remind users is not an appropriate term to be calling anyone, regardless of moderator status or otherwise). It was simply due to circumstances that we as staff came off this way, and we apologise for such a misunderstanding. These circumstances have since been changed and we are now allowed to handle such conflicts in a more appropriate manner.
We sincerely apologise for these mistakes made, and as stated before, procedures have been given and lessons learned from these incidents. On behalf of the moderators, we hope you continue to enjoy the site.
Thank you and carry on producing,
The Cinderella Producers Moderator Team
